I agree with the 3 as well,
with more of the info posted by Anita, and the 3 by Gravvvyy..
Yes it is a little confusing for a lot of people actually. Glad my post helped you, it seems to have helped others as well, since you were not the only one to send questions to me.
Adding to ICRCC;
my post the other day disappeared!
Primitive Skills
Solar Wind Generators
and... since we see so many questions on it...
Bug Out Bags and variations, BOB, Go, Dodge Bags
Gardening Permaculture Growing Foods
Hobbies Tinkering
Big Brother - eg agenda 21, order in councils etc etc Home Land Security,
Business & Advertising
Food - split into two topics
Food Natural
Food Commercial
O...
Books and Ebooks
that is really a huge source of info for us all, and there are about 25 posts already just on books, ebooks, downloads and the such
I agree with number 3 for the same reason's talked about already, I find that I want to read about all the other things happening on the provincal area's but tend to find myself in ontario, checking quebec, alberta and then the general forms more often then not, sometimes I will find a posting or listing a week or two later as I just don't make all of them..
The best thing I figured out was how to subscibe to the forms that interest me, like farming, gardening or hunting etc etc, that way I get a email notice whenever someone posts.. i pick and choose threads in all the areas using that as well..

Thank you Denob for all your work! I truly enjoy this forum and check it daily - like Farmgal, Ontario first, then CPN, then other provinces.
#3 please
I hope I am not out of place to express a concern, even though Denob has encouraged me to post. My concern is that by taking topics of interest OUT OF LOCAL and putting them in General Canadian or whatever, then the interest and interaction of local (in my case read BC) people, WHICH IS TOPICALLY BASED, will be somewhat undermined. After all, if I know that someone within a reasonable distance of me, thinks such and such, you know, thinks more or less like me AND will communicate with me on specfic topics, THEN I am much more likely to make a connection, keep up contact and actually meet.
Anyways, I wonder if it is possible to make available a BC search, in other words, a couple of clicks to show postings of all people in BC, that would 'save' the local flavour I am talking about. Does such a feature already exist?
I am no programmer but could this be done so that people's posts can be organized as Denob suggests (there is a need I see that) but at the same time the BC (or other province) posts can be displayed at a couple of clicks regardless of topic, ie just because they are BC?
Thanks for all the work. I do appreciate it. Sorry if I have missed something and am taking up time and space for something already covered. Safehaven.

First I would like to add my personal thanks to Denob for the work he has done and continues to do for this forum. As for possible changes, option number three is most logical and gets my vote.

Good point. I just tried to do a search and this is what I got
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: bc.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

#3 seems to be the one!
finding members;
will require some options to be changed,
ensure everyone who joins, fills out profile completely, location Ontario, then region
Usergroups, there can be subset usergroups easily created. Usergroups can be by Province, and in the Case of Ontario / British Columbia (make everyone fill out with full correct name not just BC) Northern Ontario, Northern British Columbia
This then is a searchable and quantifiable equation in the boards;
click on
Members top right = membership comes up with everyone's name, in order of last setting
next Top Left
Find a member -
search by Group, drop down menu - Usergroup or by name or by Canadian Prepper etc
Great idea, I offered some suggestions awhile back and that is when the sections were changed on the main ipn page. I think having more organization at the smaller levels would be great and agree #3 as well. Thanks again Denob.
We also need some local meetups, would cut down on the misc. posts and help keep more organized.
