I've lived in the country my whole life. When I was outside gardening this morning, it occured to me that mosquitoes, blackflies, horseflies, deerflies, and ticks could make your life miserable if you're not prepared when you bug out or move from the city into the country. In the city, they aren't a problem, but out in the country......look out - fresh blood! NOW you should be researching repellants, natural or chemical ie Muskol or Deep Woods. It WILL make the difference between a positive experience or hell with wings!

Very good point PrepHer. Living in Northern Ontario we take them for granted. Even here there are days when it is wise to stay out of the bush if the flies are really bad; unless you want to be a smorgasbord for the entire insect population. If they can drive the moose out of the bush then you had better be prepared to fend off an aerial insect attack if you intend to bug out to a bug infested location.

My personal favorite repellant is Avon's skin so soft. As my wife used to be a HUGE Avon rep, we have ample supply...and it leaves the skin silky smooth too!
