Hi
I am thinking of coming up for the day on Saturday.
Could you post the specific location as the only thing I know about Larose forest is the Shooting range. 🙄
Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;
Here are FarmGal's directions from previous years:
To get to P1, take Highway 417 to exit 79 (well-marked since this is the exit for Calypso Waterpark). Go through the town of Limoges and follow the sharp right curve in the road onto Saumure Road. Stay on this road — the name changes to Indian Creek — and take the second left onto a road which is also Indian Creek. You’ll find P1 less than a kilometre down this road.
Once you get down the gravel road, you'll see a trail head sign with a wooden gazebo behind - that's us 🙂

Awesome thanks.
I will be coming over the Masson-Cumberland ferry down Dunning rd onto Russell rd then onto Indian creek. Simple!

that's right folks, our first (and by no means last) box of gifts have arrived and is safely stored away waiting to be hauled to the event..
All kinds of knitted goodies.. from extra thick scarfs for your car kits to wash cloths and things inbetween..
While I will share some things on this posting, some will only be announced on the day of!

SO thoughtful Oldschool!
A lovely batch of strawberry jam just out of the canner, I have some light flower jellies, Pickled Scape's and now Strawberry Jam, I should have raspberry, current, rhubarb and a few other ones ready from this years garden season in time for the barter table!
New to our events, don't forget the barter table.. other then keep it family friendly, and use common sense, its a fun little time, it is just what it sounds like.. no cash.. barter only.. bring one thing, bring a dozen.. over the years, we have had fresh baking, cookies, or breads, books, tools, plants, seeds, dried herbs, small items of all kinds and so much more.. its something that we all talk about.. barter this and that.. but let me tell ya..
Its a interesting thing to watch, folks tend to fall into two groups to date.. those that try and figure out todays Pricing and then try and barter as evenly as possible and those that want something and will barter what they need to get it..
With it being a large event this year, I am looking forward to watching how it will go down..
I will have a limited supply of my green healing salves, and some dried herbs as well as a few other things.. I am hoping for the fullest biggest barter table yet!!

Ah yes, the barter table...I've been gathering up some goodies for that!
Stressing about what / how to demo the beekeeping - something tells me you guys won't be satisfied by the presentation I designed for grade schoolers. Lol
But I'm really looking forward to the day, and meeting you all.
It's coming... and it's going to hurt!

Oddmott,
Mrs. Denob and I are really looking forward to this...your beekeeping presentation is at the top of our list!
Just give us enough to get us started next year and we can pick your brain here if we have questions along the way.
Just to confirm I spoke directly with the owner of Whispering pines and they will place our group in an area that we can bring our cars and trailers directly on site. I know we have at least 2 folks that have confirmed they will be bringing their trailers (one 27 ft and another at 24 ft) and their is absolutely no problems with bringing these on site.
Thanks for that info...not sure if we will do the camping thing yet, but we are going to be there for sure!
OK...we've decided to do the camping thing too...1 trailer from Friday to Sunday.
