I expect that if you could let us know when you are coming into town, we could consider doing a meeting at the Swiss Chalet by Costco which if our default Ottawa City meeting place.

Hubby is finally home now, and while we had a bit of minor damage, its nothing we can not clean up or fix ourselves.

We are at our BOL right now experiencing 90KM wind gusts. Everything we can pick up has been picked up and the rest tied down. Jeep has been tanked up from our trip and we are watching carefully, but the tornado watches and warnings have stopped, at least for now. Funny though how we prepared for a quick bug out from our BOL! There are power outages around us, but so far so good although we somehow would not be surprised to lose power before the night is over. We have heard of some secondary highway closures due to downed trees, so if we have to leave, it could get tricky. Good thing DW has a great sense of direction!

My son had a visit recently and will be back in December. I'd like to plan a trip to Ottawa next spring or summer, so maybe your next years annual meeting would work out. I use to be in Ottawa on business regularly, but since I retired, I've been more relaxed. 🙂

Due to the tornado, we are going to post-pone our get together and move it to a different date in oct.. updates to follow.

Thanks for the update Farmgal. We only lost power for a short time and only minor tree damage here. My son 5 minutes away lost power until Sunday night ~ they came here to recharge phones, food, heat, comfort ~ but had to stay home to pump out the sump pump. My other son just got power restored today, Monday morning.
