Public roads are part of a package deal, everyone pays a bit to keep them maintained and we have certain standards:
your vehicle is safe enough not to endanger others
you can control your vehicle adequately
others are protected in the event you screw up

That would be ownership, license and insurance. On your own private road you need none of these things.

Want a house? Go out beyond anyone else, clear the land and make your house. I can't understand how they can justify taking something that someone else put all the work into.

After spending quite a bit of time exploring FMOTL, the idea is very appealing and for the most part, legit. From what I gather, it's based on common law (law of the land) and can be boiled down to 'do no harm' and governing ones self accordingly. If you do the research, (there is quite a bit of junk to wade through) this lifestyle is very appealing and gives a person a legal status of not being governed. If you say you want to live according to common-law, and then you shoot at anyone (never mind police officers), or speed recklessly, or steal or any other amoral thing, then you have completely missed the point of confessing oneself as a Freeman.

The idea of tapping into the private bond (your birth certificate bond being traded on the markets) to pay for your debts seems brilliant to me. To do it, it has to benefit the claimant and society as a whole; fulfilling both requirements. If it works, and it's legal...fill your boots I say. Also, there are other ways to have private health insurance equal to OHIP. Do you really think you are not paying for OHIP?

As for no auto insurance.... the legit FMOTL movement is in the process of setting up a private bond insurance through which 1000 people pitch in 1000$ and you have a 1000000$ policy that all can 'travel' with. All legal too. You only pay once and if someone is stupid and the bond needs to be used to pay for a stupid action (being the cause) then they may be removed from the "insurance policy" and everyone needs to pony up another grand. You see it's not that the movement endorses no safety net....just not one that takes from you constantly and when needed...try to wiggle out of everything they can. Plus the bond will grow!

Unfortunately, violent anti-social people have gravitated to this movement and for my OPSEC guidelines right now I'm staying away from it. Plus, if you really are expecting a full on SHTF...we will all be Freemen anyway. I am keeping my eye on them though... I would like to find a way to live like them but without the violent sociopaths ruining a good thing.

these people and their ideals are dangerous to modern day society. they don't want to pay insurance, neither do I. (but they still drive) they don't want to pay taxes, guess what, neither do I. (but they still access health care and drive on the roads you and i pay to maintain) they don't want to communicate with police if stopped for speeding or involved in an accident, nor do most people. (we do and we do so because as a group we decided that common law was not enough to govern todays society and for most people owing up to your mistakes is the right thing to do). in their world child pornography is legal. fraud is legal. killing someone whilst drunk driving is legal. hating someone because their skin colour or the shape of their eyes differs is legal. i'm not saying their all racist, child raping, fraudsters... my point is those activities are not outlawed in their 'world'

a forty year old man can have sex with a 4 year old...where's the offence without modern statues? how do you deal with this? in the Freeman On The Land world you can't charge him with an offence...you can't kill him, thats against common law, beat him, common law, burn his house down, common law, seize his property as a punishment, well no statue would govern that and commmon states if its not yours you can't take it....how do you deal with it?

look at it this way........car insurance....$1,000,000....really think that will be enough for 1,000 vehicles on the road. one accident in their krap heap cars that do not have safety (because they believe they should be exempt from an expert mechanic telling them if there car is road safe and charging them to do that) and that million dollars will be gone in seconds. for example, an accident kills a 40 year old married father of two who earnt $100,000 a year and they already need at least two million dollars to settle that suit. now you all need to pony up $1,000 again, plus another $2,000 to put the pot back at $1,000,000...but the Freeman who had the accident, are you going to let him back in...OK but he can pay $4,000 this time because hes more of a risk...well, he doesn't think thats fair...so you have set up a Freemans ombudsman to govern who should pay what....well everyone in the Freeman community wants that job...who chooses who gets the job...ok, they all have to go into a booth and mark with a cross on a bit of paper who they think should get the job...(any of this sounding familiar yet?) well, Freeman Frank gets the job...hes in charge of approving claims and the safety of your million dollar pot....well Freeman Frank, sick of his life falls head over heels for the 16 year old working at 'Freebucks' (a coffee shop that sprouted up when people just wanted a meeting spot where they could chill and have a coffee) this 16 year old talks Freeman Frank into moving with her to Costa Rica and taking that million dollars hes in charge of. well, everyones in uproar...everyone again has to put $1,000 into the insurance pot (not happy) and vote in another ombudsman. but Freeman Frank just walked away with a million dollars of cash...got away with it scot free...someone is needed to stop people doing things like this....again you need to find someone whose willing to deal with the more undesirable members of the Freeman community...no one wants the job...its dangerous...OK they can carry a gun, and we'll make them wear a specific set of clothes so they can be identified and called upon when people need them...well it happens again, the new ombudsman meets a 14 year old and tries to abscond with the pot...hes stopped at the airport by that guy in the uniform...but the guy in the uniform says he cant be arrested or charge with anything because what hes done hasn't broken any common law....ok to stop from getting burnt a third time we need to come up with a new law that stops the next ombudsman running off with money...well, whos going to pass the law....OK, we need a group of people who decided what should be law and what should not be law...how do we decided who should get the job of 'Free Minister'? hey, go back to that marking the paper in the booth thing...right so all these guys are voted in but we can never find them to point out issues....we need a building where they can meet daily...so we know where they are....lets make it bigger than most so everyone knows it the heart of our community....ok, building started, but the contractor brings up the issue "only monkeys work for peanuts"....ok, who pays him....right, what we'll do is all make a one off payment so we can build the place...yeah but maintainence....ok, we'll all make a yearly payment to keep up with maintainence as well...well, shouldn't we pay these guys something as well...their all intelligent guys and could make a lot of money outside of what their doing....ok, we'll all chip in a bit more...and that guy in the uniform, he should really get something....Ok, OK...right bit more for him.....hey freeman John's house is on fire, burnt to the ground....what we could use is a guy to throw water on the fire....OK, OK, OK we'll all pay a bit extra and have a guy to throw water on buring house..................................i could go on forever......ive had one dealing with these idiots and am still reeling from it...........if anyone reading this thinks freemanship is a good idea they need to realize we had freemanship before about 2000 years ago....it won't work!!!!! all you are doing is retarding society, you'll find yourself back exactly where we are now sooner or later. 2C

First: I am not a Freemen. Second: I think some, including the reportor of the CBC has lost focus on the issue. The Issue is not about a bunch of mad people making false claims, or maybe it is. If it is, the reporter should be focusing on the issues the Freemen have. Our elected government as a whole including the judicial system has lost the confidence of the people. Most of Canadians including myself ADHERE to the Laws of the land including but not limited to the Criminal Code of Canada, and other Statutes and Acts of Parlament as we believe them to be FAIR. The problem exist that many law enforcement officers, burcrats,and other agencies commonly exceed thier authority and even blatantly BREAK the LAWS of the land. I have personaly witnessed this and have made attempts to hold individuals, and or agencies accountable only to be brushed off by those governing them (themselves). It is this type of behaviour that is fueling the mindset of extremists'. Until as a society we truly start to hold accountable those WE GIVE AUTHORITY to. This type of behavior seen in these freemen will grow. The Laws would have commoners such as myself believe we are all equal under the law. Or that the laws are applicable to all. I sometimes wish I was still ignorant. However I am not but will continue to fight for Our Rights as afforded us under the colective laws we as a society have AGREED to.

most of what they say is true. your birth certificite in used by the government to access moneys from the reserve that they borrow against your worth, being what you are worth in society. there is NO law that says you have to pay taxes, they are volentary you sign your money away when you sign you income tax return. look it up. i will post more tomorrow but what thay are saying is true of some things. how is it that you think the government can borrow money in the first place.... they need collateral and that is where we come in. they borrow agains how much revenue we generate in a life time for the country. there is a law here in canada that says you can not pay debt with debt. that is how people get away with not paying a mortgauge the bank pays the debt of buying your home with their debt and then holds you to the mortgauge to pay it back. but if you cant pay debt witth debt then that voids the transaction and thus you do not have to pay. if you learn to read the law you will see that not even the government follows it and you can do what you want when you want as long as you know the law. I am not a freeman i have not herd of it before and i am not interested in it but some of it is true. the government system and the monetary system are nothing more then a pyramid scheme ane we are at the bottom.

If they have a car accident hospitals built with our tax dollars will fix them up. Some of these guys will pay for the treatment. But not for the captial improvements suxh as building the hospital and the roads.

My problem with the current Freeman clique is what happens when they flush a turd. They don't pay taxes but are happy to use a sewer system they have not contributed to nor intend to contribute to the upkeep of said system. So if the sewer main breaks, they will not pay taxes to fix it. but flush their turds once it's working again.

How close is that to a parasite? Albeit a romanitcally named parasite.

I agree with you Carbon, they are a parasite on the face of our society but not because they try to get things for free and have no respect for any one but them selves but because they are using real laws put in place to protect our rights as canadian persons. they use thease laws usualy in the wrong context in order to abuse a system put in place to protect the rights of the people in it. At the same time shame on us for not really knowing our rights (being the people in the system) put in place to protect us from the unjust treatment we endure on a regulair baises but have simply become accustome to. Look up the blacks law dictionary it might suprise you.
