The only way for this to become a problem is for Good People To Do Nothing.
Oh wait, good people are not only buying into the propaganda that all this is in their best interest and are doing nothing.

Try to keep in mind that Alex Jones pedals a lot of fear mongering to promote himself.
The last time the massive bullet story broke everyone went nuts.
When the actual details of the contract came out it was discovered that the term were for a 7 year period and the quantities were maximums.
I'm not saying don't believe anything about this, but just wait to see what the real story is and try to keep the Alex Jones hysteria to a minimum.

You could explain away a few million rounds of ammo as a consumable but this is too creepy.
On the other hand I heard some good news.

I understand that Alex Jones has his own agenda, I get that. But when the purchase of 2700 vehicles, the drones flying overhead, the billions of rounds of ammo, the whole automatic gun ban still on the burner, the 85 billion dollar bubble that Obama and the GOP are still arguing about, the complete ammo shortage in the states, I think that there is something on the horizon. It seems like DHS is a small part of someone wanting to prepare for something to happen. Why would it buy all this equipment? and invest in all this training? I think that the government is prepping themselves for something that they WANT to be able to handle. By removing the hard core weapons, having armor protected vehicles, they already have the trained professionals to do what they need to do. The trick is to figure out what they are up to?.....lol

Check this out.....this is a little example of the governments thinking..

OK...so let's take a look...
The post on modernsurvivaltblog states "the Department of Homeland Security is apparently taking delivery (apparently through the U.S. Army Forces Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico VA, via the manufacturer – Navistar Defense LLC) of an undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the United States."
The number of vehicles modified was 2717 out of 9000 that had already been delivered to the armed forces...not the number sent to DHS. That number is quoted as being "an undetermined number"
Let's read to the bottom of the post...
"[The vehicle] is used in the execution of high-risk warrants — including drug trafficking, smuggling, and contraband,” “We have 16 MRAPs nationwide."

SIXTEEN!

Now the last quote was from a DHS spokesperson so take it for what it's worth...but ask yourself if there MAY be other explanations other than mowing down innocent citizens.
Let's say that a major event happens...Roving gangs, golden hoards, and the like are something we all agree are possibilities.
Could the DHS be preparing for thieving, raping, pillaging, murdering gangs?
DO YOU?
Just because I'm a Costco customer doesn't mean I am going to buy up every bag of flour or every canned food item they have for sale!
@sbassco...
you are 100% right...they are preparing for something, and like us, maybe something that will never happen, but should be prepared for none the less.
All I ask is that people think before jumping to conclusions that the government is turning into a police state and will treat it's citizens al la Tianenmen Square!
There are hundreds of situations I could think of and probably as many that I couldn't that would explain this...not many of them lead me to government induced genocide!

PS...love the last scene of the video!

The 1.6 billion bullet thing is a non issue IMO. It would take far more than that to go to war against a polulation that more than likely has about 10X that amount of bullets and 10X the manpower. I think marshall law may happen and people dragged to camps because of it. If a dollar collapse were to happen they would need these things to keep people in check. I am very much not a government monkey but I do see it from a government angle when it comes to societal collapse due to a monetary collapse.

As far as this vehicle goes I can only think that it was built heavy as a defensive measure since it looks way to vulnerable to attack once the police exit the vehicle. While inside they are safer. There is room for a sound cannon on top and at best a gunner. If it came down to that I believe that tanks would be on the street and not these really, really beefed up hummers.IMO.

The military industrial complex found a whole new market in homeland security spending after 9/11. In the aftermath of that event, almost any purchase request was justified as being in the interests of national security. Of course, it was paid for by borrowed money.

Until governments admit they are over-spending, the desires of agencies to acquire fancy gear will go on, just as they invent new roles for themselves.

From where I stand, the execution of these contracts is about the banality of bureaucrats, soldiers and private industry keeping themselves busy until they can draw a pension.

The motivations of the power structure to maintain the status quo after a widespread disaster is fodder for political philosophy and students of history. If it comes to a major breakdown, we will all have to be political philosophers and students of history.

When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fail, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.

Come on, lets do some math. There are 3.4 million active duty and reserve members of all the US forces. Now take the 75 billion rounds of ammo and divide it by the number of members. That's around 2,200 rounds per person. That is not much for practice. I shoot more than that in a year. This is straight fear mongering. There is another video about the RCMP buying 18 armoured cars, 18 and the video author thinks this is an attempt to take over Canada. This is why I keep coming back to this forum less and less.

I prepping, why shouldn't the federal government?

So how do the Chem Trails, Lizard People, the "greys", Illuminati, Freemasons, Loyal Order of the Elk, Colonol Sanders, the Queen fit into this conspiracy with all the black helicopters circling overhead? 😆

I'm not even calling them conspiracy theories anymore...its an insult to the word theory....They are just hypotheses passed off as conclusions with piss poor evidence.....
