Sunday July 15th approx start time 11am, potluck lunch, with show/tell/visiting, To get to P1, take Highway 417 to exit 79 (well-marked since this is the exit for Calypso Waterpark). Go through the town of Limoges and follow the sharp right curve in the road onto Saumure Road. Stay on this road — the name changes to Indian Creek — and take the second left onto a road which is also Indian Creek. You’ll find P1 less than a kilometre down this road.There is a large sign at the turn.

Recommend to bring bug spray, there are tables but bringing extra lawn chairs always a good idea, while there are bathrooms, there is no running water, as we don't know what the weather will hold, plan for anything... There are some close by walking trails, while running shoes are go for the road itself, if you plan on doing any kind of trail walking, I recommend boots 🙂 Typically there are a number of wild edibles, so a little walk and talk forage at the edges of the meet and greet area is certainly a possablity, if anyone is interested in that.

I can't say just how excited I am for this get together, we have folks coming from the toronto area, from the montreal area, from all across the ottawa area, and I for one can't wait to meet everyone and put some faces to the names, I will bring some canning labels for us to write our on-line nicknames on, if folks would like to do.

Ok, stupid question - what is P1?
I was thinking due to how long it will take me to get there (about 6 hours) it would make sense if I drove up the day before. I haven't figured that part out yet. In fact I haven't figured anything out yet 😆
I am giving away a few of my craft and sewing books so if anyone is interested, let me know and I will bring them with me.
Food noted so far:
Farmgal - bringing lamb, Potato salad, fresh buns, some canned and dried goods and we will see what is ready in the garden fresh that morning but a big jug of applemint tea is a for sure
Denob - boss is thinking of a pasta salad
Anita - boiled quail eggs, Homemade yogurt, Homemade jam, Pickles and a Grain and veggie salad
The only thing that I can thing of that will last more then the 12 hours would be a veggie tray and a fruit tray. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Oldschool, P1 is just the parking area.
I doubt that I'll get as fancy as Farmgal and Anita for the potluck! lol Oldschool, maybe you could just pick some stuff up when you get to Ottawa, like fruit in season or even bakery buns would be nice (something easy).

Still planning on coming, I will have to work out a way to get there though it shouldn't be a problem. I will not be bringing any show and tell seeing as it is my first time to a meet but I will be bringing some kind of food....just not sure what yet though I have some ideas. Hope to see you all then!

Don't worry Granagrees, it's the first time to an Eastern Ontario meet for everybody except Farmgal and I ! lol Looking forward to meeting everyone and really appreciate the distances some of you are travelling to attend.

Wonderful new oldschool but I can't help on a good priced hotel in the area, I have not stayed at any locally, nor had anyone visiting me do so, hopefully someone else in the area will be able to help in this regards, I would google to see what is available in rockland or embrum? as starting points.

Sounds like we're going to have a good turnout! Two more weeks to go.....
I am trying to organize child care for my youngest (13 and severe autism, I can't just leave him with anyone... has to be someone with experience) and IF I can arrange it I will be there with my middle son! I think he would love everyone and he is a sponge! Loves to learn, observe, hands on... he is a prepper in training for sure!
Its a long drive but, we will probably come up the night before and then drive back after the meet. 🙂 Its a long shot but we are trying 😀
