Can anyone tell me the best way to get there from the 401 - GPS has us going all the way through downtown Ottawa - there must be a better way.
For example is exit 770 off the 401 going north through Finch, Berwick and Crysler a good idea? or is there a road to take the goes across from the 416 to the 417 south of Ottawa?

Hi Anita, I got a good way for you that I think will be easier..
Take 401 to the cornwall exit heading to ottawa (highway 38) follow it until you cross over the 417 highway and the road turns from Highway 38 to Country RD 8, follow it heading towards bourget, Pass the signs for casselman, pass the signs for st. isadore, keep coming, over the the bridge for the south nation river, about five to six minutes after the bridge, you will see a road on the left. there is a old personal sawmill on the left, a big house the right, and you turn left there, I will to have to drive to a name on that road, even my map is not giving me a name, but that is a corner I will have the red ballons at, and there is the big forest office just in off the turn.. Just follow that road till you see the sign for P1 and the ballons, and you will turn right and go about 1km to the site..
If you go past the turn, you will hit the p2 pull off and picnic area well before you get bourget, in which you have gone to far, turn around and come back.. 🙂

Ok, if I have it right, and I will double check, if you come in on Country Rd 8, the turn or the road will be called clarence cambridge according the map I have for the backroads..

Well, that's a bit tricky, I don't yet know how many folks that are down as one name are in fact coming as couple or as a family etc, so the best I can say is that I think we will have at a min 15 peaple and at a max around 30.. if everyone that says they are coming shows up.. I am expecting around 20 to 25 personally 🙂

Prepher, I agree, I hope that folks are going to bring their own potluck fixin's but just to be on the safe side, I did snag some cups, plates and napkins at the dollar store and will bring a few extra sets of knifes/spoons/forks etc.

What I really want to say (to a few people) I shall keep to myself.

I feing it troubling that some people seem to have attitudes and yet they can't or won't post them in the general theread for everyone to be aware of their comments. Perhaps I have missed something here but I have read back through the thread and nowhere can I find anything negative related to mamaizzy bringing a tiny sampling of drink. If anyone has anything to say please have the courtesy and "balls" to come out of your closet. Mamaizzy.... please do NOT let a negative comment cause you to withdraw from this meeting. If that becomes a pattern then those with negativity will be the ones setting the tone and agenda here while others stand aside. As it has been said by a better man than I... "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing". I am not labeling anyone here as "evil".. only that no one here should be setting an agenda by intimidation or coersion.
