I'm a licenced Electrician living in Keswick, Ontario. I'm about 40 minutes north of Toronto. Anyone arround that is interested in alternative energy, food storage,anything to do with becoming a little more self sufficient? My goal is to build my house off the grid. I like cooking, preserving food, and stocking up on lifes necesseties. Wouldent mind getting together and talking to like minded people. I;m married, 7 years, and have a choclait lab named little bear. I was raised on Manitoulin Island, used to hunt, I still fish. I'm 50 years old now, but still feeling preety good about it. Welcome mooseman from Haldimand County. You sound like a fellow that would be good to know. I am sure you will meet lots of good people here. Might be an idea to meet in a neutral place at the beginning until you get a handle on people and such.

Mooseman you might want to split your email address in your signature up so that we can understand it but bots cannot i.e. keswicksparky at gmail dot com. With all the Google bots etc that troll the site you might end up getting a lot of junk mail.

Thanks, I checked out the Bug out site in Barrie. It looks like a lot of fun. I used to sleep in the bush hunting deer on my dads 100 acres. I would build my own shelters and sleep over in the wintertime. There was really no feeling like it. Hi moseman.I have completed what you talking about.I have built my completely self sufficient house from scratch may be I can be of some help.At least I can tell you my mistakes and what I would do different now.We do not have to go to town for a month just enjoy our property.(In Muskoka).
