Hello All... thought I would say hello and introduce myself. New to the forums here but have been a long time survivalist/prepper in my own way. Being married and with kids has brought my attention levels up a few notches and got me into prepping more seriously these days though. I have traveled to a few places around the world that are not so hospitable and seen more things in person that most only see on the news which is one of the reasons I decided to take prepping more seriously now that I have a family to look after. I am located in Prince Edward County and am open to meet other preppers in the area to share ideas and techniques as well. I look forward to learning more about prepping and sharing the knowledge I have with others as well.
Cheers,
BOA.
Hello from BC!
Welcome BOA, it's a pretty fun group here and i'm sure you'll enjoy your time, learn some things and share many others as well.
Hopefully, being from P.E.C., you'll provide us with some good growing tips!
It's coming... and it's going to hurt!
Welcome BOA and greetings from Northern Ontario.
Hello and welcome
Hello from a new member 🙂
I'm in Ottawa and have been interested in preping for about 15 yrs. I am a firefighter with a medical back ground as well as ex-military. Glad to be part of your forum.
Hello from the center of the universe..... well Toronto lol
Welcome to you too Sensretractor.
Hi there BOA
New here as well. Guess we've all got our reasons for being here and those moments that got us to that point where we considered the what ifs. Hurricane Rita did it for me. Anyone else have a moment that they said "hmmm maybe I should think about this" ?
Greetings BOA, Ah found P.E.C, south of Trenton, Almost an Island in itself.

Ice storm of 1998... got a good dose of it being in the northern Ottawa Valley.
Our family had it easy as we were already preppers - without knowning it - and had wood heat, a propane range, outdoor freezers & a walk-in cooler that was still great for food storage even without power.
We had a stop in station for folks to come and warm up and get hot meals. We always had a venison stew and 2 or three soups warming on the stove, 24-7. And plenty of first aid supplies to share around. A few crews from CFB Petawawa even stopped in for good eats a couple times as they swung through on surveys.
I was only 17 and just had fun the whole time, oblivious to the fact that folks were actually dying. It wasn't until after, when we started hearing reports of just how hard many people were hit and just how unprepared EVERYONE seemed to be that I realized just how incapable the average Canadian is to look after himself or his family in a disaster.
It's coming... and it's going to hurt!
Oddmott, I too lived here during the '98 ice storm with no electricity for 2 weeks. We already heat with wood and had winter supplies in our root cellar so we were okay looking after our family with 5 kids still at home. But you were right , many people weren't.
That experience gave our prepping a shot in the arm!
And welcome from Eastern Ontario, BOA and Sensretractor!
Thanks all for the warm welcome... much appreciated.
Cheers,
BOA.
Just remember.... the Boy Scouts have been saying it for years.... Be Prepared!
Nice to meet you BOA, Prince Edward County is a lovely part of Ontario!
