Hi All.

Was told by a good friend this is the place to be.
Homesteader for 17 years now, looking for like minded people of varied talents to cooperate with.
Have 32.55 acres in Renfrew County Ontario, working towards total off-grid. Livestock, wild and nurtured edibles, and farm produce.
On the look out for old school Millwright for building project(s) on the homestead, offering room and board, and a budget for labor to begin this coming spring.
Please contact for details.

Cheers! K

Hi K, Welcome to the board and welcome to the group for the Ottawa eastern Girls and Guys, we have a good little network going on at this point and we have a big annual summer day long get together that just took place in Aug, and next years is going to be BIG, its our 5 year! bash 🙂

We have a good amount of folks that are into the crossover blend of homestead -pepper so you will fit right in on that.. I am farmgal, and by what you wrote, I can safely say that we could spend the day visiting and never run out of things to talk about, if you could get either of us off are farms LOL

Will look forward to getting to know you more.

You have a very good and smart friend!
This is indeed "THE PLACE TO BE", but then again, I may be biased.
Welcome to the board.

Hi farmgal

How true, getting off the place is a challenge. I have a question you may be able to answer; I have a small herd of 8 milk goats (Dairy/Boer), ethically raised free rangers, very healthy.
Come Spring they will kid and I will be looking at herd reduction, keeping 6/8, and letting the rest go as to keep the forage ratio intact.
I would like them to go to "ethically run homesteads".
Might there be members who are looking for good, healthy, inexpensive stock?

Cheers! K

Glad you made it here Kate! Denob has of course a biased opinion, but he is right on both parts haha. Farmgal is the lovely lady that I met at the Ottawa meet, I'm sure you and her will get along like a house on fire, and oldschool, my travelling companion than invited me to the meet, and that visited your place with me.

Thanks for the info Max. In a message above, "oldschool" (didn't know who that was) was sending me "my package", and I got a little worried (LOL). Now that the info has gotten sorted out I'm more relaxed, harhar!
