I am in as long as I am off work. If there is a good camping area perhaps we could do an overnighter.

😆 I vote for Wilde 😆

OK I volunteer as long as I get some help - that would be everyone who suggested Durham Region!

There's going to be a meetup in July out farther east nearer to Ottawa so I think maybe we should go for August.

How about August 11th or 18th for possibilities? There are a few conservation areas we could look into - one is Heber Down near Whitby - it is pretty busy in the nice weather but there are picnic shelters etc. that can be reserved. Another is Lynde Shores - not sure about facilities except those right by the road but it is right off the 401 so the access is simple for those coming from a distance. Enniskillen Conservation Area is also a possibility but I haven't been there in many years also again I know they have picnic shelters but I'm not sure about anything else. Someone else can chime in with any other ideas or locations or information about the locations above.

I will try to make another meet for sure, I like the idea of camping too, If I drive from London I would probably expect to stay the night anyhow. 😀

I would be willing to help, not sure what I can do but if you need anything let me know.

Heber downs - Would work, the sheltered picnic area would be fine, and theres plenty of open field areas spread out for groups.
Lynde Shores - Would not work, other then the small parking lot theres no where to go.
Enniskillen - Would be fine too, has a few sheltered picnic areas and some open space.

Can anyone give me an idea of how many people show up to these? I'm fairly new to this board, not a member of any other boards and never been to a meet.

I think most of us can say we have never been to a meet - I haven't either except for meeting two people in a coffee shop once - one of whom I never saw or heard from again (I don't think I'm scary 🙂 ) I think the last meet had 15 or 20 tops but who knows we could break their record!

Anita !!!

I am trying to negotiate for access to a Farm, so minimal costs it might not be a go, but then again, who knows?
Will look for some other places as well.
There is Darlington Prov Park, it has;
camping
pavillions
group areas

Will go and take a peek today or tomorrow

I was being polite and not mentioning that YOU were the other person and maybe it was YOU who scared him away!

Sounds good - free is always nice and at a farm location would probably be quieter. Darlington Park is a good option - easy to find.
