Home from fishing!! Richters Herbs sounds great to me but it does eliminate the camping aspect.

How many people need to find accommodations? There are lots of sites available at Darlington Provincial Park for those weekends. We could book a group camping site but we have to arrange that through the park and we can't book on-line. With the number of people coming from a distance I think we need to keep a camping option open somehow. Either do it as a two-parter - first meet in Uxbridge and then find somewhere close by to camp or change to a location where a meeting and camping are available.

I should be able to make it for a day but not sure about 2 days.

Since I haven't heard from anyone except oldschool and my mind has returned from holiday and birthday party mode I will make an executive decision to keep it simple.

Let's meet at 10am till 3ish on AUGUST 11TH and if we want to continue we can always head to a nearby restaurant for dinner to continue the conversation. I'm not sure what is relatively close by - anyone??? I think that most of us will be newbies to a preppers meeting so don't let fear of the unknown stop you from coming. Even if you don't feel you have something to share I'm sure you do 🙂

Since we'll be at Richters (thanks Spinkx!!) and discussing herbs with the owner I think that can easily and naturally be expanded to gardening and food so if we need a theme that makes sense to me.

Hi everyone, My boyfriend and I stumbled across this site recently and are very happy we did. We have been prepping for about a year now but we have so much to learn. We are interested in going to the Aug. 3rd meet....this will be our first one. We would drive down for the day and wouldn't need overnight accommodations as we are only 1 1/2 hrs away. Looking forward to meeting you!

I would love to see a potluck lunch (with recipes for those who have allergies and for those who want to recreate) and it would be great if everyone brought something to "show and tell". Even the simplest things are things that someone might need to know. We can keep thinking out loud with this idea. Please add your thoughts. I've asked someone to bring some mylar bags and demonstrate how to pack and seal them for example.

But please bring your voice and your questions and your expertise - I have nightmares about no one talking 🙂

I'm in Peterborough and can offer a lift to 2 more people. I'm going to want to meet you're weird-self beforehand though... lol Not sure I can suffer through 1.5hrs of awkward silence to and from the meet. 😉
