I use to be able to do that. Except, I wasn't quite as fast and I usually missed the target. Come to think of it, I generally fumbled four out of five arrows and maybe broke a couple. Oh yeah, I got severe string burn and almost poked my eye out. Oh hell, who'm I kidden', I'd have to have a paramedic standing by if I ever tried to do something like that.
The only thing I've ever been that good at is eating. 😆 😆 😆

I think any normal person might want to concentrate on shot placement instead of shot speed.

Sure, I might have my SKS or Mini 14 at the range and empty the magazine in a second or two and it's fun. But I don't hit the broadside of a barn. Wait for the killshot and aim for it when you're hunting. When I take the time to aim and squeeze off a shot, that's what happens.

It applies to bows and arrows too, I'd think.

It's better to prep for something that may never happen than not prep for something that does.

Agreed, focus should be on aim first and speed second. Hitting the WRONG target could be life or death for you (or anyone standing nearby)

When I was in high school...way back when...I used to practice throwing a basketball through the hoop, but with my back to the hoop so the ball went up over my head. I practiced this for hours and could get a shot most times anywhere from the half way mark on the court.
I did it a couple of times during games but the teacher objected and said I would do better if I could see the hoop...she was wrong as I hadn't spent hours practicing that!!! 😆
