It’s time. Something has happened and now you have to bug out. What do you do?
A virus known as H3N8 has broken out within the city of Toronto. You need to get away from people fast! You’re objective is to get to the safe-haven and you’ll need to endure a series of tasks to ensure your safety and survival to prevent infection. A series of clues, tests and other challenges await you which are all prepper and survival related.
This is a fun, 2 hour test in which participants enjoy a series of real-life prepping experiences to see if they have what it takes to survive. Following the event we will have a massive BBQ.
This Year’s Theme: Viral Pandemic!
Cost: FREE!
What: A 2 hour survival challenge to test your survival and prepping skills
Where: The Ark 2 nuclear fallout bunker/shelter: http://goo.gl/maps/GfCl3
When: The event will take place on Saturday, October 26th. You are welcome to stay for the evening as we’ll be having a massive BBQ.
Accommodations: You are free to camp directly onsite, sleep inside the bunker or special arrangements can be made to sleep at Bruce’s house. Bruce is a retired radiologist who created the bunker as featured on National Geographic’s Doomsday Preppers. Space at Bruce’s house may be limited so please contact me directly to make arrangements before-hand.
Food: I will be supplying lunch, dinner and breakfast – all food for the entire event. A detailed menu will be soon released. If you have special dietary requirements please contact me with your needs. Please check back again to this page for more information.
Shuttle bus: If there is enough interest I will arrange for a shuttle bus to take people from Yonge and Finch streets to the location and back again the next day.
Age & Physical requirements: This event is open to all ages and physical requirement demands. You are not required to complete any physical tasks if you don’t want to and can still participate as other skills and tasks may be presented to you.
Personal Requirements: Your bug out bag is the only thing you need to bring with you. Just place everything that you think you need to survive a viral pandemic for one day in a backpack bag.
Challenge Requirements: You will endure a series of survival related tasks. While some are physical you won't be required to participate, however, there will be alternative 'tests' which you must take on.
Event Requirements: If you intend on staying overnight then please bring appropriate clothing and equipment (tent, sleeping bag, personal items, etc.) and ensure that you dress for the weather.
People will be scored for based on age groups, sex, stamina, knowledge and experience in which all will be taken into consideration. There will be a series of prizes based on a variety of criteria. This is going to be an amazing day and evening that will challenge all us in many areas in the realm of survival and prepping.

Never free for a weekend, I am a farmer, takes weeks of planning to have a day off the farm but for those that can, enjoy!

Only wish I hadn't planned my earlier trip back east now at the start of September. It probably could have waited till late October.
NOTE: There is a Prepper's weekend outing prior to Thanksgiving Monday in the BC Lower Mainland too.
Preppersaurus has posted the note already.
I'm driving to the Vancouver area to spend the week in the area, and join him and others again this year for the Thanksgiving outing.
Enjoy the Game/Challenge in what I affectionately call "Middle Earth", i.e. the Toronto-Bracebridge-Guelph, Ontario region.
(If you can't tell, I'm formerly from the area there.)

Is what you say worth at least a Canadian nickel now?
Cause two cents ain't worth squat anymore !

Self-sufficient is good. Co-efficient is better.

There's always next year and likely more survival games to be announced in the future. This one, in the bunker, is going to be a blast though!

How did it turn out? It really was not to far from me. I wish I had read this earlier.

That's too bad. This is an annual event so make sure to attend next year. As for how it went - here's a few quotes from members:
"One of the best prepper meets I have been to. Well planned and executed. Everyone that attended learnt something."
"It was a fun & challenging day and an excellent learning experience for everyone!"
"A great event, well thought out and the attention to detail was amazing, special thanks to Che for planning, organizing, cooking.....etc.etc... and I hope evenyone who participated enjoyed it as much as I did, thanks again for an amazing day."
"very well planned and executed event. what a blast! The surprises revealed our primal reactions/decisions. I had a lot of fun and also reflections on the drive home. Great experience and invaluable learning."
"A big thanks to Che and other hosts for putting together a great event. I can tell there was a lot of work put into it, so it was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I couldn't stick around for dinner since I got infected by the zombie"
😆
It was great to see contestants reach one of the final modules in which they were approached by an 'aggressor'. After (hopefully) avoiding the infected in the bunker and (hopefully) finding a paintball gun in the generator room they were instructed to cross a field to a fence. The aggressor was a surprise attack who demanded their belongings. It was carefully crafted to catch them off guard and give them very little time to react. Some contestants ignored him, others shot him (correct action) and some put the gun down!!!!
Perhaps I'll do a summary of sorts in the coming weeks.

Che, I am not challenging your statement but I would like to know why in your scenario , shooting the aggressor was the correct action ?
Damn, how did I not see this? Seriously, I might just try to reboot an organized simulation of this in the spring. Exodus Toronto. Currently training and gathering supplies to do this via bike.
