That was an interesting read. It takes a special type of brain. Most would go insane.

I have a Tactical Harness and I have a Tool Belt. The Tool Belt is more Useful.

It would be interesting for sure. Especially the little survival tricks that he figured out over the years.

Let's be clear here... the guy was a criminal and a bit of a whack job.

He didn't learn "survival tricks" and is not somebody you want to take lessons from. He simply found a good campsite and spent 30 years stealing other people's stuff.

He's not skilled, not a survivalist and not a prepper.

Criminal yes. Whack job...well he definitely ended up like that. His diagnosis was Aspergers. Which is ASD....he was a high functioning autistic guy. He fell through the cracks of the social net (if that net existed) and there he ended up.

He ended up where he belongs for doing criminal acts no doubt. But per your first post...Im not sure how I feel about it. Skilled, yes. survivalist or prepper...doesnt seem to fit the mold. He just lived his life as the opportunity presented itself...

The author said it was a diagnosis. Thats pretty specific in the ASD, so Id doubt he wouldve guessed that one.

He spent 30 years in the bush, survivalist YES!! You try spend one week in the coldness of winter! I have! And let me tell you it is cold. For him to survive stealing or not he preformed a feat that not many on this site could do. Including me! So you can say what you want about his mental state or the fact that he stold food but that does not diminish the fear that he preformed. So as far as survival tricks, I bet he has many that he could teach us.
