Well said. My thoughts exactly. Small villages of maybe 15 families trading with other villages for different items but the children are only raised and disciplined by people in their village. We have to get smaller to live happier. Not bigger.
From what I have seen in this world you have really 2 types of people. Those who want happiness and peace and those who want power and control. Myself, I go for the happiness and peace. I don't like conflict or being restrained. I don't break the law but I am determined and stick to my own personal rules.

Ad so you can see why Ratts and I therefore stayed in touch all these years. We more or less saw the same crap and watched as some officers gave in to alcohol as their cure while others adjusted to the standards set forth by the crew they worked with. We barely knew each other in the forces as we worked either alternate shifts or he was often attached to field side where he traveled to other countries. I remained base side where I was always in a patrol car, never a jeep. I saw enough crap from soldiers when they were usually off duty on base whereas those field side often saw soldiers doing their worst when playing war games. Give a bunch of guys guns and psyche them up with war games and see what wonderful things they can do to one another when they capture prisoners and such.

The army even allowed a fair amount to occur without intervention as it taught our guys not to get caught. I guess that you could view this as good life lessons for a SHTF scenario but I think it helped many soldiers who were already on the edge to eventually crash. Yes, I therefore believe that every person who served has an advantage of one sort or another over those that didn't for they then have some dormant skillsets just waiting to be awakened.

The OPP received riot training from the MP's as I went through such with them. I don't know what other training they received from us but likely they took the same EOD course too if they were on bomb squad or other special units. I thought that officer selection was tighter now than ever before as they have raised the age limit alot since our day. But I note that many don't seem tough enough and that measure is not taken from the size of the individual but from their demeanor.

You know how they used to say you can tell alot from a man by the way he shakes your hand? (Well it isn't just how strong a man is but also the way he squares off with you during the handshake and whether he looks you in the eyes or looks elsewhere.) The same can be said when an officer approaches you. You can see if they are timid and official or sure of their presence. It's the lack of the right nature that I think I find missing rather than too much of other aspects. Indecision is not an attribute a P/O can afford any more than a short attention span. Maybe it's the lack of not seeing them taking note of their present environment while they talk or some other little details. I find I still measure every P/O and most others I meet daily and catalog that which my instincts tell me away for some rainy day... it's the constant measure of a person (and often it needs adjustment) but this is something many of us do daily and something others rarely do at all. It's noting who has their back to a wall as an instinctual act or who has the look they need to escape when you arrive .. it's okay for a civilian to be lacking but not a good thing for a P/O to be without.

And as I suggested before, some do this without ever having joined the military while most everyone who did join still does it 30 years later! I wish there was a quick way and instinctual way to discover which officers today have decent morals from those who are lacking in this department. And then it now comes to mind of the Bible story where Joshua was to select for his army just those soldiers who drank while observing their surroundings over those who simply stuck their head to the water and drank.

Yeh it's good to have that extra training. But even us that haven't been trained can still see if the open their eyes and learn to trust their instincts. Even when I was a child I could see the corruption and my parents or their friends just saw it as "life". Children see things as they are. We have to learn to look at thing anew and maybe some will see what is really happening. Especially now in the states they are getting ready for country wide riots. Listen to the Alex jones show and get some up to the minute news. Live.

Well your first mistake was in calling the cops.... if someone, family or not breaks into your house... it's game on. There is no what if's or excuses when they are taking stuff out of your house.

Cheers,
BOA.

Just remember.... the Boy Scouts have been saying it for years.... Be Prepared!

It's a long story but if I disnt cLl the cops then I have nothing on record for future events. Now because my sister used her probation officers badge to represent herself to the officers and she is no longer a probation officer then I can have her charged for impersonating an officer. And now there is an official report stating that my sister is not wanted here and when it comes time to enforce my fathers will, then I have a police report to show his feelings toward her. She tried to steal my fathers house after my mother died. It's a long story of greed and a sadistic person. It will all be worth it in the end. It's a very long story.

Tiger,

Unfortunate incident. Especially when family is involved... I dont know the specifics of what happened, but if you feel you have a legitimate concern there are a couple of avenues:

If you think the police acted inappropriately: http://www.oiprd.on.ca

You can also make a general complain about the misuse of the probation officers badge to the Ontario Ombudsman. They are a general starting point and if they can't help, they will definitely send you in the right direction: http://www.ombudsman.on.ca/Make-A-Complaint.aspx

If you want to lodge a complaint about your sisters misuse of her badge just head down to your local Superior Court Justice House and lodge a complaint. Probation Officers are technically officers of the court. Your in Thessalon right? I think its still a circuit court there as they population doesnt allow for a permanent court house? You might have to do some digging but a drive to Sault Ste. Marie or perhaps there is something online to file your complaint? http://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/

Thank you very much. I will definitely check those all out. I was trying to find the right avenue to proceed with this. Have a wonderful day.
