My wife will be traveling this summer from British Columbia to Ontario and will be looking for some land with a cabin/cottage on it, hopefully by a lake, and possibly in the the Thunder Bay area.
If you have any information as to where to look or what websites we might use prior to us starting out it would be much appreciated.

Hello. First post. Grew up in Thunder Bay, before the job moved me to southern Ontario. Did a lot of hunting and fishing in that area. Great area, I still have lots of family and friends up there.

Most of the ones I know in the area are actively homesteading so not a lot of time for the internet. Never mind that, I didn't even get my canoe wet (not counting the flood in May we had) this year.
Now that winter is almost here, things should slow down and soon we should be starting our monthly pot lucks (and maybe some more time on the forum 🙂 )

I grew up in Fort Frances, live in AB now with a 10yr stint in WPG. All my family lives spread out in small towns from wpg to Thunder Bay.
I've been watching the Ontario threads for action in NWO but this is one of the first I've caught. I've not had much luck getting family and friends interested for the most part but my parents do have some basic necessities. I'm just too far in any sudden, high-impact, low-probability event to be of any help to them.
Keep up the NWO discussions, I'd like to hear how many of you are out there and active!

I agree, let's keep this thread going for those in or somewhat near Thunder Bay. At some point maybe we can have a meet and greet of sorts as well...
I lived in wpg for 10 years and have been in the Calgary area for the last 10 years... don't miss the mosquitoes but do miss the lake!
I am a few hours from Thunder Bay.
