I recieved lots of freezing rain. What a mess. Very destructive. My prep was parking the vehicles and machinery in the middle of a hay field. Don't regret that one.
Power is still out. I think it will be out for another day or two. Went for a little drive and got just to the end of my driveway. Trees down on the road on either side. Trees to the right took out the power lines and trees to the left just required a chain saw and a tractor along with a conversation as to who's yard they should end up in. I provided the tractor as I was the only one who could get to it easily. I drug it down the road to the neighbors yard where he will cut it up. That left me free to go to a movie this afternoon. Power is on in the big city.
So good to hear, so far, everyone is safe and no heavy damages.
Even tho its a nasty thing to have happen is sure can sharpen the skills.
OD - Hope you get the power back soon.
HillTop - Spring?? what is that?
Here we get teased with a bit of it. Snow is gone, except the hills of plowed snow, then next its snowing or hail with freezing temps hit again and its a 'White Christmas' card all over again. 🙄
FGal - sounds like you got lucky. 🙂
A sense of humor is absolutely essential to survival.
The ice missed us but we go lots of rain. We just had a little water coming up around the perimeter of the basement. Nothing that couldn't be handled with some rearranging and some towels on the floor. The only thing we lost was some old mattresses that I was planning to donate. Now I'm just taking a space heater around to some of the more stubborn spots where there's a bit of dampness.
