A mess kit, "Swiss Army" style knife with fork & spoon, tin cup. The kit & knife come with cases to hook onto a web belt, and the cup hooks on with its handle. I've also borrowed some books from the college library, and made some hard-copy notes on edible/poisonous foods, and survival shelters. That way, if for some reason I can't remember in the moment, I can hopefully reference my notes.
Defiantly a slow week.

Nope, sorry. the feet get burried with the guts and feathers
Just scored a tri-fold German shovel and an ammo can. Got my eyes on half the Army Surplus store.
Been a busy week. I bagged 16kg of rice, 5kg of dog kibble, a few kg of salted roasted peanuts, a few kg of split peas in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. I picked up a Ruger Mini 14 with 600 rounds of ammo for the purposes of small to medium game hunting, varmint control and self defense (after TSHTF if it does).

Which military surplus store? Where abouts is it? Good military surplus stores are gold - you gonna share? Or maybe you want to pick the store clean of all the good stuff first
It's better to prep for something that may never happen than not prep for something that does.

Been looking for some 20mm ammo cans, these things as rare hens teeth some times. These would make a dandy field kitchen stove, with a few pieces of fire brick and two short pieces of chimney flue (8' ext. Dia.). Or a tent heater. With a bit of angle Iron, you could make collapsible legs.

Just finished canning up 3 quarts of leftover turkey soup. After a few days, you just can't handle any more turkey, so we'll save some for later.

I know what you mean about turkey overload Denob. As soon as ours was cooked I cut it in half vacuum packed and froze the other half. It will be nice to have in a couple of weeks and easy too as it only need to be reheated.
