Went to the garden center to pick up some indoor plants to add some colour and life to the new place. While there we noticed they had several hurricane lanterns on sale, so picked up another one. Then the misses picked up some spare oil and wicks at the Home Hardware the following day. Also added more TP in the same trip; up to one year's worth per person at 1 roll/week. Very important.

Dollarama has 28 hour candles on for 1.25 got 20 of them. Restocked the first-aid kit. Added another 80 rolls of TP, 2 cases of pasta and a case of soup, plus a bunch more coffee - can never have too much coffee 🙂 Also rotated the stock in the dogs BoB.

Costco has the newer version of the FoodSaver on for $40 off, $127.00!!! So I gots me a new one...this one has a moist/dry foods and a gentle setting, the marinade container...if you go to Costco.ca you can see the specials this week...they have the bags on too $9 off but we use Canadian tire money to purchase bags every year ... http://www.costco.ca/warehouse-instant-savings-nt.html
I also got a metal, sturdy, shoe rack that I plan on using in the fruit cellar to make maximum use of the height of the space between the fixed shelves to give better visibility to my canned goods. This way I don't have to stack the cans more than two or three high and eliminates some of the problems with tall stacks of cans. I can put what needs to be used up first in front and the rest in back of them on the shoe rack shelves.

Hey razerp. How did the dehydrating go? How are you storing it for long term?

Added more cold hard cash....from another post here I think adding a small amount of money every week or so will ultimately give us a small nest egg if needed. Now...to look into gold/silver purchases! 🙂
