Robinson was the name on the pack... I think you will have to go to a specialty smoke shop, or a place that sells zippo lighters

Been out shopping again .
- HomeDepo ugly ORANGE bucket and will store the bottles of lamp oil in it , the good no-odor no-smoke stuff, I will be able to recognize it by that orange bucket.
- Rona - bunch of tarps
- HomeDepo some of those new " flat " style LED bulbs. They were cheaper
- HomeDepo - couple of Aloe Vera plants to start growing them bigger now , I've been looking for quite awhile for them.
- more bird netting to protect the crops.
for those doing the math those pallets are 4x4x4 and the trailer is 16 feet long, yep 2 cord but actually more than 2 because with logs there is lots of air spaces, this stuff is stacked tight. 5000 pounds a load (I was told)
A intervention may be required
What type of wood? Where do you get them? Curious why they cut them up all nice for you? And how much? Wondering if there is a similar company in Ontario that could do this for us! 🙂

Just sat down and the bat phone rang...looks like another deal on wood if I can get there fast enough....have to hitch up the trailer again and run...will return

5 quart Lodge dutch oven off of Kijiji for $20 ... needs a little cleaning up but there's no rust and it's still fairly well seasoned.
We'll give it a proper clean and re-season it.
This is our fourth cast iron rescue we'll have rehabbed 😉
ETA Husband also found us a brand new Lodge chicken fryer for an exceptional price from a local surplus place last week. The surplus guy had gotten a job lot of them.
Still haven't christened it yet...

I have to stop, but its hard to. This is from a different place and I will hate to burn it, nice dry, planned lumber. This trailer full was 140.00 but it is a little less than 2 full cord, I est 1.8 cord. I should say 160, but I get 5 dollars back when I return the pallets so the true cost will be 140.00 then.
Crownsown... I believe the wood is mostly spruce but it is kind of strange in that there is no sap at all in it. Those sizes are just the cut off end pieces from the beams they use, it looks like they are cut to size just for a stove but its just dumb luck that it works out that way..those other loads were 300.00 a trailer full (2cord)
I cant give up my sources. I don't want to put more demand on my supplier that could bump prices up.
Also it seems you guys in the east don't use the same cord we do here, ours are 4x4x8
They have more of this stuff and I should go pick up a few more loads at this price, but I am getting tired of stacking wood

Local Loblaws affiliated grocery chain (Fortinos) has it on at a super good price so we loaded up on the low salt variety.
$1.50 off per can is quite a deal.

Yes,...more wood...at 140 a trailer load and it only takes two loads ( 1.5 to be exact) to heat my place so 280.00 total for a year I figure I better keep getting it while I can
I am restacking it on pallets, I will go 6 ft high....this is like money in the bank...it cant be inflated or devalued away, I cant lose it in a bank derivative deal, and no service charges when I make a withdral from the stack.
Just back to add.....If anyone asked me how much air is in a stacked cord of logs I would have quessed 15 maybe 20 percent is air...I went checking around to see what the consensus was and no, of 128cuft in a cord, 80-85 cuft is wood the experts say...that's roughly 35 % air. I would have never quessed it was that high...so those big blocks I was getting on 4x4x4 pallets means I was getting a extra 89 cuft of wood per trailer load or 2.7 cord of wood per load (heating value wise), not the 2 I thought I was getting... These last ones were a little smaller but still work to be 2.4 cord by adding 35%.....That's good to know... I have more wood (heating value) than I thought
So one trailer full of those big blocks is almost enough for a year..1.5 trailer loads would cover me through the worst ever winter.
Now I have to recalculate ...I may be good nearly to 2030...but will I live that long 😯

4) a "like new in box" large room space heater
5) 10m of heavy gauge chicken wire
6) misc pieces of lumber
Was at an expo in Birch Run, MI of all places last weekend....and there was a booth selling a wide variety of books. Chose one on gardening...for all year around!
Its an invaluable resource which was made for people like me! Lots of pictures, easy to do steps...and can do this anywhere!
Name of the book: "The Year Round Vegetable Gardener" Author: Niki Jabbour.
You pick your region, match up the climate....and set up for what is recommended to grow in any season. Steps on raised beds, coverings, etc. I can grow Lettuce in February! 🙂
Easy to read, and follow through, you don't need a PhD in Gardenology! Love this book and the applicable knowledge in it. Great for city backyards and up!
