Hi preeps,

Well it's been a coupla weeks since my surgery.. and it went amazingly well!
I had no issues with the anaesthetic, the op was a complete success they removed the cancer, re-attached the bowel and I am healing very well.

Came home after 10 days in, have all my staples out and eating a good healthy diet. Still a bit tender obviously but doing well.
Tests say i'm cancer free. just gotta keep positive.

Well, I've finally decided to purchase a solar panel set to use with my Duracell Powerpack. Bought a folding 100W with charge controller. When finances allow, I might add a deep cycle battery or 2 to the system for a bit of expansion. Hopefully, next house will be ours for a while, so I can look at permanently installing some solar and a battery bank.

I picked up 13 types of seeds at our local Seedy Saturday yesterday. Also stocked up on .22 ammo which seems to be getting scarcer and scarcer. I have a hard case for my rifle but I picked up a cheap soft case as the hard one is better for transporting to the range & back, but pretty heavy/unwieldy for bugging out (if it came to that).

We've taken a slew of workshops at a local mennonite church on some older techniques including:
canning/pickling, baking with yeast, patchwork/sewing, making egg cheese, etc. Such simple concepts and so valuable to have!

Picked up a whole bunch (I haven't counted them yet) of plastic buckets and a few lids for free off of Kijiji.
I LOVE Kijiji!

the crownsown, what is "egg cheese"?

The easiest cheese ever made, and delicious with maple syrup! I just heard about it this year, but apparantly a mennonite staple.
