Clarence, Check out the rechargeable AA batteries from Ikea. They are allegedly rebadged Eneloops at substantial cost savings. I ran them for 17 straight hours right out of the package in my Streamlight 4AA. It was still producing useablle light but had dropped off. I stopped test at that point so as not to damage the batteries. Going to run test a few more times to see how they stand up. They carry AAA as well but have not tried them yet.

Out with the old and in with the new...
Built a new 2meter antenna and mounted it about 8 feet higher than the old one.
I'm receiving repeaters 300km away!
Now I plan to expand the police frequencies so I can hear more regional news!

I can't speak to the long term use of this one as I just got it, but this morning at 7AM, completely overcast, and hanging in a west facing window, it was already putting out 13 volts.

Cheap enough and seems to work, even if it is Chinese...

For small scale batteries (I think they carry up to 75AH, 12 volt)
I found this guy located in Ottawa.

These batteries tend to be standard fare for alarm panels and maybe last 2-5 years. Highly recommend yuasa batteries instead. It’s what I put in all my corp or gov security installs. 10 year range. Another thing is to use the batteries, stockpiling them doesn’t work. They loose ability to retain charge, so if you wish to buy a dozen or so, rotate them in security panel etc. You may get a false low battery alarm on system but it usually only lasts a day
