Greenguy, you've made a very good point. By November, you'd better be prepared as you want to be since the media hype and doomsday movies will incite the general public to clear out the 'batteries and candles'!
My family prepped for Y2k well before December 31st, 1999 - for ourselves and possible out of town family. "It" didn't happen but we had lots of supplies and coasted through the winter.... we used the most perishable first, best before dates, etc. In fact, I still have 75 litres of stored water (2 drops of bleach per 2 l. pop bottle) in my coldroom - I likely wouldn't drink it, but it's still good for flushing the toilet! lol
