The following is my personal opinion, and only my opinion. Not Forum Management. Not the Forum Owners. And The Fringe is the place to discuss our personal thoughts on things.
In my personal observation and deductive reasoning, I am coming to the belief that there are those in this big old world who just do not want the common - man, woman or child, to ever get ahead in life. Some would label these folks as evil. I am not sure evil is correct, but they sure as hell are greedy. They - people, governments or corporations; behave as is the world is here to make them rich, at the expense of every other living soul on this planet. And they do not care. They do not care about anyone but themselves.
However, it is becoming clear to me that "they" feel threatened. Very threatened. Their collective behaviours, as their monetary system collapses, as their empire is collapsing, as their very lives may be forsaken; they lash out in the most horrific manner. Terrorism is their favourite tool, terrorism is faceless. Easy to promote. Easy to induce fear. Easy to manipulate. It only takes gold, silver or cash.
Yet, even with the sheeple panicking and huddling in the corners, an new class is awaking. A new social order. One that will not be bought or beaten into submission. It is like the French Revolution is returning. Where the masses of common people who are fed up with taxation, oppression and submission - that benefits the few and punishes the many. Push is coming to shove, and folks don't take too kindly to being shoved. They are beginning to stand their ground and draw that line in the sand - that states,"you cross this line and you are in for a big fight, and you will not win."
"THEY" know this, too. And in their underhanded, cowardly way they are making desperate attempts to flex what little influence they have left. They are using fear and panic in a desperate, vain attempt to not lose their power. September 11th, All the wars there after, attacks on subways, schools, children's camps, movie theatres, and now a sporting event. These arrogant people, will kill/murder anyone, so, they can stay in power. They make events happen, they solve events quickly and they kill/murder the prime suspects when it is convenient for them to disappear and forever be quiet.
But fear and panic are strong weapons of control. Exploit these and you can rob every citizen of their God given rights and freedoms in the name of security.
It will be interesting, whom is found guilty and publicly executed for this latest attack. Do not look where the finger is pointed, as that will be to distract you long enough for another handful of rights and freedoms to be stolen. Some scapegoat will be pegged to the post for slaughter and the media and sheeple will feel relieved it ended so quickly. But next week, next month, next year - a more horrifying event will be orchestrated to ensure the fear and panic do not subside, so whatever remaining rights and freedoms can be stripped away.
Keep you eye on the money. Who profits. Who loses.

I agree wholeheartedly!!! Either the elite are using these "massacres" as a way to strip even more of its citizens rights or it is using them to distract their "sheep" from something else that is going on... or both.

London marathon is on and also the "Official send-off" for Margaret Thatcher - she rattled lots of cages (and put a lot of people out of a job) when she was Prime Minister over there and outbreaks of violence are expected because the British Government is spending a lot of money to farewell her while many people are struggling to feed themselves and put a roof over their heads.
Some speculation that a similar situation to the Boston marathon bombing may occur...

for searching - it used Google's search engine, but puts the results through a proxy server, thereby masking your IP address. This means no record is kept of your searches. Very useful for those of us who wish to keep our heads below the parapet... 💡
Well. Where to start. It has been 3 days. The prime suspects are from Chechnya. One dead. The hunt is on for the younger brother. Fire fights, car jackings, robberies, LEO's shot and some killed. Lock-up in the State of Massachusetts.
This will not end well. The second suspect is probably going to be shot on sight. Thus justice is served and the people will be safe.
Something is missing here. Motive comes to mind.
For the folks directly affected by this insanity, our hearts and prayers go out to you.

While I don't disagree with you, I tend to think that the pool of "privileged" extends to most of the western industrialized world. Sure, there are those within our system that have a whole lot more than the mean however, even those living with modest means in the "West" enjoy a higher standard of living than royalty two hundred years ago. I believe that our collective "WE" is desperate to hang on to our privileged standards of living knowing that it is not sustainable and that it comes at the expense of others. (think sweat shops in places like Bangladesh) Let us not loose sight of our complicity in this madness.

I am glad you have joined this discussion. Your observations always seem to add clarity.
I do not disagree with your point of the Western consumerism contributes to the continual growing gap between the have's and the have not's. Unfortunately, a dichotomous world like planet Earth, will always have rich and poor. That is not the crime. It is sort of like Ying & Yan. Dark and Light. Love and Hate.
What is most alarming is the extreme gap between the richest and the poorest. Those few thousand humaniods who occupy the less than 1% of the world's population control or own 90+% of the world's wealth, resources, corporations. The fact that so few effectively control so many is unnerving.
But with every law of science at some point a re-balance is required. No overall loss, only a shifting of who controls whats.
The point I was trying to express and get across was that these one percenters will use their power, influence, and if need be their money to keep the masses distracted and not focused on the fact that the masses if they were to work together would in effect hurry up the re-balance of things here on planet Earth.
Hopefully, a few more will express their thoughts, opinions and facts and keep this a lively discussion.

Very true Mountainman - perhaps that is why we seek to find like-minded and aware individuals to share good conversation with, to learn from their experiences and knowledge, and to share our skills and knowledge where possible! I believe that is why we are here 😉 Most people on this forum do not seek to exploit others nor to create divisions between us - this forum is the hub where information can be found and solutions to problems can be thrashed out with others who know exactly how we feel and what we fear. Those few individuals with the power to divide society are counting on us all being dependent on "the system" to cater to our needs, and clearly some of us have other idea's and wish to progress beyond "needing" the system for survival. I do believe that there will always be people who don't wish to be seen to fit the "standard issue persona" that society seems to expect (with the big screen TV's, latest iphone etc etc) - they prefer to be true to themselves even at the risk of being considered "odd" or "strange" (not talking about nut-bars here) by mainstream society.

I am a little distracted in my thinking tonight. I watched a youtube video from Glenn BECK. Not really sure who Glenn is, some kind of TV host. He is challenging Prez Obama to come clean on his knowledge about the recent events. Beck says he has some proof that he will spill on Monday, that implicates those in power to be in connection with the event.

This Beck commentator seems to be a peer to Rush Limbach and other right wing pundits. If he really had anything of value to contribute to the dialog do you really think he would wait until Monday? Give his political opponents time to prepare the spin on his dramatic release of information showing conspiracy? I think he has achieved his goal by stirring the pot, getting his name and face viewed countless times, and cast a shadow over his political opponents.
Actually, this little drama is really well suited for a discussion thread entitled "Divide & Conquer". It seems to me that our American neighbours have made an art of the tactic; the victims being the American people. (the 99% if you want to tie in previous posts) If you would like a little late night reading, I would recommend Noam Chomsky's "Manufacturing Consent". He has got a lot to say about the workings of the American News machine.

The guys at Zerohedge think very little of him.
I have to admit, with Zerohedge I'm more interested in the comments after the article - I often get more from those than from the article itself!
I used to watch Glenn Beck when he was on CNN. I guess he turned out to be too right wing for them. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with today.
