Apparently the Mediterranean is getting very crowded! There are U.S., and French ships on one side and Russian and Chinese (in transit) on the other. All have agreed chemical weapons were used but the question is who used them. Iran has approved military action if the U.S. strikes Syria. This whole situation is one big powder keg.
I think powder keg would be an understatement!
I think Canada is being smart by staying out of it.
We saw the same thing back with Bush Jr.
The US claimed to have proof of WMDs, which turned out to be bogus.
Canada opted out and avoided being dragged into the poop storm that followed.
Sure, I believe that chemical weapons were used, but I also think everyone should wait for the UN to chime in.
Why does the US bother to be a UN member and disregard whatever they say, or in this case, haven't said yet?
Yes, I'm glad we haven't commited any military support, but we have been named as a supporter of the U.S. along with France, Britian and Turkey, which bothers me also. No proof can be produced on which side did this tradegy to their own people. I neglected to mention the British also have a ship in the area and air bases in Cyprus, also I'm sure Israel will be involved. I just hope PM Harper and Baird keep out of this and saner heads prevail.
