Hi Snow... another question... becaue my list is pretty much everything (will work towards that goal)... can you just come in and buy like its a store or do you have to can everything yourself (with help) in order to purchase it? Reason I ask is because my list is so large and so many items that if I do it all myself... I might have to move in. 😉

I see from the list they also sell "bulk". Is this packaged for long term storage or does it have to repackaged in smaller quantities?

JustABear: The cannery does sell bulk food as well...It's up to you if you want to take the bulk food home or if you want to can it...

This is not a store...it's a cannery...this cannery is used as a service to members and friends...you don't have to be a member or be accompanied by a member to buy bulk...just check out when they open and go buy...if you want to can, you'll need to make an appointment...we already have an appointment set up on November 17th at 9:00 am ONLY...everyone is welcome...the more hands the better...If you just want to show up just because you're curious but you don't want to buy, that's ok too, you're welcome to drop by, we might even put you to work!!!...

Just fill out the price list and email it to me...so that the cannery will have an idea what to expect and also it gives them the chance to pull out the food, boxes etc...You don't pay me...you pay the cannery on the day you go can or pick up what you've ordered...

It's easy!!!

Unfortunately my schedule is one that I never know from one day to the next if I have it free or not. Ideally I would like to come by and purchase if that ever works?

I've been looking on in envy at this offer, but I'm over 4 hours away.
It appeals to me for several reasons:
1) a good deal on food
2) educational
3) very interesting to see the set up Mormon's have , but also
4) Lotsa FUN!! Meeting crazy people who prep & wearing stylish hairnets, for starters!

Whatsa matter with all you deadbeats out there who aren't jumping all over this opportunity??
If you're worried about opsec, take a taxi, wear a disguise & speak with an accent!!

I am so interested, but afraid to commit because of the distance & winter road conditions, etc. HOwever, I'm still tempted, so I'll be tuned in to hear the date & time. I'd only be able to make it if the session were early afternoon, I wouldn't want to be driving in the wee hours of the morning.

I am only in it to obtain the food. No interest in learning how its done although I'm sure that will be interesting. I'm more than happy to help the organization as well. It just comes down to a great deal on long term storage food and if I could walk in the front door, drop some money on the counter and walk away with stuff I would be the happiest camper around. I'm betting others are similar of mindset. All this planning and booking of dates stuff is an inconvenience and convenience is the name of the game.
