I noticed that No Frills has flour and sugar on sale and they are usually good for door-busters. Since we don't bake, I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. Maybe someone with better research can verify?

Try going to save dot ca...
they come out with a lot of coupons on a regular basis...
the ones I like the most are for Duracells...both alkaline and NiMh.
just wait for a sale and then bring out the coupon.
Energizers are OK, but I have found that Duracells last longer.
Anyone needing sturdy shelves for your preps or what not?

I have one and I love the moveable shelves idea, as well as it being very sturdy. Easy to put together as well.
A sense of humor is absolutely essential to survival.
They have the plastic ones on too. Usually $29 for $19.99. Not too big but still useful.
CT has an electric wood splitter coming up this week, marked $200 off. I have one and it's a great little splitter. I've definitely exceeded the size of logs they recommend and it split them with ease. As well, they have Motorola radios on sale this week, 30% off.
peavey mart perfect thanx for info on solar power
Costco has their 7 day MRE packages in stock once again. They are under $125 and are delivered free to your door. These are the ones with the heater packages included.

The marstar SKS's I hear are junk. Why else would they be pretty much giving them away.
No idea of your sources but you are completely wrong. Opinion with no actual experience is only rumour means nothing. I know from personal experience they are well made, well fitted and functional. Why would you pay more for the same thing elsewhere?

Have to disagree gunner, my SKS functions awesome, no issues what so ever. Great deal and great rifle.
Radio Scrap... er... I mean The Source has bricks of house brand AA and AAA alkaline batteries on sale. I have no idea of who makes them but they were on sale pretty inexpensively. I go for rechargeable and solar charge those so it's not a big deal for me. It might be for you.

Ribtor, in Calgary is clearing out their warehouse. They are open on Saturdays but I'm not sure of the hours.
If you've never been there before, they are the Princess Auto of garage sales (kinda)

I don't know what they have left but we're going to try and stop by tomorrow.
I just phoned them. They're not closing down and they're not moving.
Rain 🙂
It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.....
I was rather disappointed in their selection as I had not been there in a number of years. They have a lot of discarded military bits and pieces that may be of use if you have the back packs and vests that all the bits are supposed to attach to. They also have some used sleeping bags, parachutes and boots that some people might find useful but I was not sure what do with some of the stuff in general.
They do have a huge assortment of ammo cans of all sizes but most have dents and rust already. They have pallets worth of rusted metal bolts, hardware and general crap that really should be brought to a metal scrap yard.
Those of you who are tinkers may find some useful items amongst the hardware but that is not where my strengths lie unfortunately. Check it out if you have a Saturday afternoon to kill while in Calgary.
