dried another dehydraters worth of mushrooms...so potent and tasty when they're dried!!
Dad found a lone apple tree and gave it a good shake for me...
it filled the dehydrater, they look interesting, gave me a quart and a half apple 'chips'
on top of that - 22 - 1/2pt jars of lovely, not too sweet, not too tart pink apple sauce...for basically free.
and when I have enough tomatoes from the garden...practically free salsa! (a staple around here)
I have GOT to get myself to Independant for the bulk deals...I'm *gasp* running out of salt!!

Its that time of year where you work non stop to get stuff done. I bet Farmgal and Anita have done more 🙂

A fireball is a type of hot pickled green cherry tomato. I bought a jar at a local market as I loved the name. They are amazing. So I googled and found a recipe. I won't know for a few weeks if what I did will be as good as what I bought.

in the last 24 or so hours:
6 pints of the fireballs
5 jars of cinnamon apple butter
11 jars of apple jelly

starting the peaches today

I'm happily buried under tomatoes and dirty pots at the moment 🙂 Sweet and sour BBQ sauce for my homemade meatballs yesterday - more on the way today. Apple sauce and apple chunks tomorrow. I take Sundays off 🙂

I love reading everyone's success stories as well! One little baby step is a success - just keep moving forward!
