I picked up a grizzly at canada ammo . com
They just had a huge sale on shotguns, not sure if its still on.
Ya I like it because the parts are interchangeable with an 870. And for bear protection it is easier to pack than my 18" defender.

Amen to responsible gun storage!

If you only have one shotgun (especially if your life may depend on it) I suggest you make it a good one - it has to work every time (or the one time).
Another thing, if you buy a second hand shotgun from a private party - no records.
Best thing - go to the CGN website and sign up for the EE - equipment exchange section. Get a real 870 for just a few dollars more and sleep better knowing it will work when you need it. Save the Norinco toys for fooling around.

Okay, so after carefully examining the options, I realized I'm getting really carried away with the possibility's of choice rather than the function. I'm kinda like that. So I'm just gonna start off with the Remington 870, 26 inch barrel, with an improved, modified and cylinder choke.

I realize now if I want a tactical shotgun, I should build one out of an 870 Express with the 18 inch barrel, put a pistol grip and a fore grip on it, with a shell holder. And if I STILL want a smaller, more compact backpacking gun, well I can buy a cheap chinese thing, if I wanted to count on that. Personally I think I'll be doing more research into customization of the ACTUAL Remington 870, and take advantage of the options.

Thanks a lot everyone! I shoulda known better than to start off with anything less than 'MERICAN as a staple of my firearm collection.
