well I would love to chat with all of you concerning shtf scenarios and having a "family" so to speak of like minded individuals to have my back and me have theirs. I have concerns that we will need to have that community atmosphere when the shtf or we will not make it....especially now given the conditions in the Middle East. Gas prices rise 5.5 cents????...anyways...if anyone would like to talk to me further..email me at s basacco at hotmail.com

Hello Sabascco. You might want to split your email up so that we can understand it i.e. Sabascco at hot mail dot com. With all the Google bots etc that toll the site you might end up getting a lot of junk mail if you give a direct link. Glad to see you enthusiasm.

Hey there. Just stumbled across this forum and thought it looked interesting. I've been getting started in prepping for a little while and I'm working towards a starting point where i can ride out a 2-3 week blackout comfortable (then I can build on that from there). Anyways, I'm currently situated near Talbotville on a small rural rental property with my GF. I'd be interested in learning more from all of you and sharing ideas about what sorts of local hazards we face. I've been thinking about things like blizzards/ ice storms, tornadoes/ serious thunder/wind storms, flooding (I'm not too sure what the flood risks for my specific area are) and extended blackouts (I was in London for the 2003 blackout which turned out to be almost a non event for us, but I'm assuming the power would stay off longer here in a rural setting during a similar event).

I've also thought a bit about firearms training and licensing, but with Canadian firearms laws being what they are, it's not a priority at the moment other than an interest for a potential hobby when I can afford it...

Anyways, Hi there!
