I'm SO sad for all those 20 little children and their 6 teachers who were victims of a nutjob who took their lives today..... My heart aches for their families . Wow, nothing could prepare you for that shock. Lives destroyed.

A Heart Breaking Tragedy at any time of the year... But at Christmas....

Shame the Mayans were wrong. Clearly our Global gene pool needs some serious bleach.

I believe the person who did this was from the lower end of the gene pool- Now what do i think? I believe it was a mind control- the US wants to take away the 2nd ammendment- So you have all of these things going on- This a way of controlling the people and bringing them into line- You will have the shrills -what u need to do is listen to the NRA and search out Ted Negent- yes Ted is the one you want to listen to and TRUTHFUL to a T- Mind control and gooberment intervention is the key-Dont think they dont know about before it happens -they do- We are being watched 24/7/365- so watch yourself and be careful- That my friend is survival- Blessings Geo-

Check the date and obviously the headline. Too bad the vote passed.

Whether he wrote this or not is irrelevant. The message matters.

Morgan Freeman's brilliant take on what happened yesterday :

"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.

...It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."See More

It's said to say but, Morgan Freeman is right. OUR SOCIETY creates these losers and that makes them household names.

On the same sad day as that horrific massacre of innocent children and adults in the US there was another awful attack at a school in China. With one teacher and twenty children wounded by a knife wheedling man: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-attacks-22-kids-knife-china-school-article-1.1220230

Thanks goodness one of these children died but unfortunately it highlights the fact that gun control may not be the primary answer to these horrendous events. It is always a mental health issue that is the root cause. That is where our efforts should be directed. The gun, the knife, the axe they are just the tools chosen by these misguided, dangerous individuals. These guns were legally acquired the disturbed misanthrope stole them. The school was secured, he broke in. If you have a determined individual it is very hard to stop them. The only true prevention must be the identification and treatment. Easier said than done in a society that values individuals rights.

Repost from another thread here....It was a tragic and sad event. The other sad thing in a more general vein is that the PTB and the mainstream media will use any event to forward their agenda. ANYTHING that can be used or manipulated to put preppers and preparedness in a bad light WILL be used for that. Yes.... not a good thing...but again the "news" is supposed to investigate and report all sides to events... not just what their masters tell them to. We live under the delusion that the news.. like Justice... is supposed to be blind. It NEVER has been. It has always been used to manipulate, condition and control the average citizen. We will always be portrayed in a bad light as we do not fit the overall "plan" whatever that may turn out to be. Weakness, dependence, subservience, helplessness are all conditions that fit the mold. We unfortunately do not. Just a few thoughts.

WOW this really sucks
Not only the origional disgusting action but then some type of threat at the church dureing vigil service too add insult to injury
I wish the press would leave the poor families alone
All we can do is pray for them families who have lost loved ones and then those whoes kids have been so drastically changed by all this
And your rite remember the names of the families not the shooter
I remember when I was young and I wonder what happened, society used to have morals not so any more and the press movies and media lead the way in the downward spiral. Don't know what to do to help all I can do is live my life the way I choose and maybe be a blessing to some one aroud here

We live in a society of wolves ,
We can't fight back by creating more sheep

Amen Mule Skinner. As the saying goes... "be the change you wish to see". In the end it is all any of us can do. Too many crazy people out there.

The mother who was the first target of this madman was a prepper. That is why she had the guns. All of which were obtained legally. I'm sure that will not be in the headlines tomorrow though.

Line from the New York Post story....
1: "Adam Lanza’s mother taught her son how to become a killing machine who used what he learned from her about firing guns to commit one of the worst massacres in American history at a Connecticut elementary school" That is inflammatory opinion at best.
2: "The shooter’s aunt, Marsha Lanza, told ABC News that Nancy bought guns for protection because she was living alone. "
3: " ' Adam tried to buy a rifle three days before the attack from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Danbury, Conn., but was turned away, employees confirmed.
The madman was rebuffed because he refused to follow the mandatory waiting period or undergo a background check, NBC News reported."
4: "awkward loner-son Adam to shooting ranges, where the painfully shy boy — who suffered from the autism-related Asperger’s syndrome ".. which is..' characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests."
The choice of adjectives in this story are ALL inflammatory.

The prepper label came from a statement made by the aunt. THAT is what the media have run with and the gun control bandwagon. He shot her first. Since he attempted to buy weapons earlier was he attemping to take his mothers weapons... she intervened and he killed her so he could follow through with his agenda??? All conjecture I know. My point is the media will make this into what they need to further their agendas. Nothing more.

Hey, I am in favor of gun control. By that I mean NOBODY gets guns. No military, no police, no citizen and no criminal. It wont happen but that is the only way it should be accepted.
