welcome to the forum dori. glad to have you here with us.
Our church bought a large shipping unit to store a whole bunch of church stuff (ie. pews) until we find a new building. We paid a couple grand for the unit - which is still on wheels. Inc. in price was two free moves. And additional moves could be negotiated. We are very happy with the unit. Very dry and tons of room.
I thought about getting one and putting a dividing wall in it and making a hay storage area and a workshop. Lots of possibilities. We also had the option of getting an insulated unit....
Thats what my dad mainly has on his farm as well, is shipping containers, he pipelines and this way, he can put all his equipment, and even the spare vehicle into them and lock them down for when he is gone for awhile, thankfully he also has very good folks around him that keep a close eye on the place and call him if anyone pulls up to the shut/locked be metal gates etc.
