I'm just curious, does anybody still remember how to wash clothes using their hands?

Yes, but sometimes you don't want to touch what's on the clothes 🙁

A new plunger in a 5 gallon bucket works well to clean clothes. Simply plunge up and down for about 5 minutes - a good activity for kids.

That seems to be an impressive machine. I would pay $40 easily to have such as a backup, so I started looking on the web but it seems they are not on the market up here yet. 😀 Maybe they want to make another version for those of us in the north that breaks often as do the rest of the crap we buy today. Seems the present version is designed to withstand a heavy person sitting on it daily. That will not do up north or someone will be fired for the product being too reliable. 🙄

Got my new plunger all packed away and ready to go nuts on the laundry.
Will not have to wash my face after doing laundry with it. (bonus) 😎

I thought I saw a YouTube video where they drilled holes in the plunger. Can anyone confirm if this is effective or even necessary?

I haven't done it yet, but have thought that holes would squirt laterally, increasing the overall turbulence, sucking in more water on the upstroke to shoot out again ,and reduce upsplash Also, doesnt it make sense to bore a hole thru a lid for the plunger, to retain the water in the pail ??......I'm just going to have to try it myself. I'm thinking of those big accordion types of plungers....
I like the drain-tap in the bottom of the barrel one. Notice that there's a (water) space at the bottom to catch the sand/etc.

I for one would like to see a break down diagram of that bucket system , it looks neet and I like gizmos to build and play with.
It will go with the two other manual washers I have built
