Most skills take a very reasonable amount of time to learn. I have a military background. I could teach you 99% of what you need to know tactically to function well in a combat environment in a week two. To gain a high enough level of fitness to apply what was taught......6 months to a year or more. Just reminding folks that fitness is very important but not very glamorous except on the magazine covers. Do something everyday even just for a few minutes.

What persay is your military background to make this claim. I have never heard this claim made by any member that I know in the CF or any other organization. Paramilitary, LE, or otherwise. In fact, most of the information I have would contradict this possibility simply for the psychological requirements.

What does your colleague Rougarou have to say on the matter?

Just trying to give people something to think about. Most people will never be engaged in a fight for their life unless they are law enforcement, security or military or happen to walk into something by accident. Not trying to start arguments. It's this simple.....fitness is what carries you, along with very basic skillsets that have been practiced. Fitness is the only thing left when all else does not work or has broken down or is lost. Just my experience. Sorry to disappoint you.

You didnt disappoint me, I was simply confused as to how your worded your first post. And even after your second post you still haven't really said if you want to train people or if you were simply stating that you knew how?

On the other hand, you are right that fitness is key and without it no matter how prepared you are you will not last for long. I do agree that some basic skills are required and must be kept current/practiced (skill fade). That being said, I have friends/family that are not CF/LEO or security and they have many skills. Not all skills are learnt from the CF/LEO path is what im saying.

You didn't disapoint me either. But I did ask some questions which I was hoping you would answer. I Pm'd you to find out what your military background, experience, etc. is to make the claims you did above. Havn't heard back from you. Could you let me know please.

I agree with your post above. fitness and defense are great tools to keep in the toolbox persay. But this isn't what you were saying in your OP, and you havn't responded to the questions that were asked in response to that OP.

I read this post a few times. At first I thought you were peddling your training website again. But I understand that you are stressing the importance of fitness. Also that you do not get to a state of fitness overnight. Your comment "I could teach you 99% of what you need to know tactically to function well in a combat environment in a week two." was unfortunate. We have a large number of members with a military background and I can well understand that such a comment would not be accepted with enthusiasm.
