Spare battery, earphone, and antenna for the Baofeng UV5 Plus bought from ebay and the internet.
These are all ordered direct from China, and are shipped for free. Total cost of each piece is less than the cost of postage for a parcel in Canada. The Chinese subsidize their postal services, and Canada Post brings it to your door for no charge.
Bargains like this may not be around forever, as postal services are losing money. It's a good time to acquire a ham radio and accessories for under $100.
Was there customs/duty/etc. added onto that?
I always think my efforts are rather dismal but I think they are adding up. A thrift shop find yesterday a brand new toilet plunger , my son rolled his eyes , why would I buy a toilet plunger when we have one. I did not want to go into explaining having seen them applied to washing clothes in a barrel. They already think I am a bit touched.
Also got Bushnell binoculars $14, a beautiful pair of leather hiking boots ( goretex lined ) $19 , bottle stops and corks and a few glass bale wire canning jars . I feel uncomfortable about not adding much to the food stocks lately and also bought opthamolic polysporin ointment and 2 jars of peanut butter at the grocery store to the pantry. And an additional jar of peanut butter I bought was left in the vehicle , to have with crackers and granola bars I keep there .
The Fresnel lens that I have for my solar oven is from an RV van and is only 14" square. Anything too much larger will not concentrate the sun rays enough unless you able to off set it just inside the focal point. If you need to trim your lens be sure to use heat to cut it or it my crack and also it is the center section that you will need. You might also might want to set your lens on top of your reflector array, depending on how large it is.

Also got a galvanized steel garbage can to store sugar in...we're now rodent proof! I wanted something large to store sugar in as it's been on sale for very good prices lately and we keep picking it up every time we hit the sales. Now the little turds won't be getting into my brown sugar again 😉
I'm the lady you're stuck behind in the grocery store with the over loaded cart filled with cases of tuna, peanut butter, huge bags of rice and the weary looking husband
I store my sugar, salt, pasta, tea, etc ~ non freezables ~ in an old unplugged fridge in the garage and those varmints haven't learned how to open the door yet!
I wrap the sugar bags in an empty plastic bread bag.

Close to two hundred pds worth of pork in freezer, canned or curing in dry or wet salt brines..
What I didn't want to see happen this week was a cat throw up a hairball on the dial of my dydratator and fry it, going to have to send it out and see if it can be repaired, but I am really not happy to have lost my big machine at this time of the year.
Otherwise, the only other thing we have added this week is more fruit tree's and airlocks for making wine/vinager.
Ratdogmom: great buy on that greenhouse by the way..

Farmgal,
What would happen if there was no where you could send your dehydrator to fix it? Is this a skill you would want to learn? Maybe keep spares on hand. I never changed a heating element on my clothes dryer until it burnt out. But saved the service call when it did.
Hi Scrounger
I get your point and I do have a number of backup, but as its not SHTF and as I have a lifetime warrenty on my Excalibur, of course I am going to send it out to be fixed
