What gets me, with respect to the alternative news sites above, is the failure to site sources for claims made. Phrases like, "reliable sources report", or statements made with no source to support claims appear to be the norm. Everything that one reads has to be taken with a grain of salt. That's an awful lot of salt.

I was referring more to the Debka site, however with respect to the photo's and references to the private security contractors at the race; and? I will admit that these security folks are way more high end than you will find at the Stampede Marathon, but Calgary's marathon is 1/20th the size. Why didn't the mainstream media pick up on this? Perhaps because the fact that the marathon organizing committee hiring professional security wasn't news. It's news worthy that the professionals were unable to identify the kids who did this perhaps. However the stage is vastly different than other conflict areas that professional soldiers have worked over seas.
Yet I hear the complaints; but the government held information back from US! But the story CHANGED as the drama unfolded! It wasn't like an episode of CSI at all! I'm frankly surprised that they were able to button it up as quickly as they did. Did the authorities use disinformation as a tool in their chest to flush out the boys? Maybe. Did the authorities withhold information from the public? Only if they are competent. I don't believe it makes for a conspiracy however. To my thinking, the suspension of civil liberties was the biggest story. It gives me shivers.
